Llandovery Folk Dancing is an informal group of like-minded people who come together simply to enjoy folk dancing. Llandovery Folk Dancing have continued the pattern of monthly dancing sessions since 1994 when the group was formed. Dancing is usually of a British origin, (Welsh, English, or Scottish) with a variation of any of these on occasions, for example: Cornish or Manx. Very flexible as regards repertoire - depends on who turns up. All welcome, so long as you can play a tune/sing a song/tell a story etc. and are respectful of fellow participants. Among the regulars, there is a core tune repertoire that includes mostly English, Welsh, Irish and French tunes. It can sometimes lean in a more Irish direction, if the right players turn up.

A traditional Welsh music session that meets monthly (usually 3rd Wednesdays) in or near Dolgellau. Please check monthly Event announcements for precise details. The name of the session is inspired by Ioan Rhagfyr (1740 -1821), who was born near and lived in and around Dolgellau and is buried in the parish churchyard.
